We have poets, musicians, painters, sculptors, digital artists, performance artists, animators fine art impressions and art much more. we are always open to adding artists in new areas. to reach the artists here, you can visit their studios and see their email address. if you would like to reach the site webmaster, our email address. art on the net came into existance in june of 1994. the idea of having such impressions a site came to lile while she was involved in an open studios event in april. she was displaying many of her new oil paintings in her studio when a friend and young entrepeneur came through and wanted to purchase an oil painting entitled "art on the net". they talked about how wonderful it would be to have art up on the internet for viewing and he offered lile internet access fine for a www site that would help artists share their art. so like many things in the art world, the site began with a barter with lile trading the oil painting, "art on the net" for art an internet connection for one year.

innocence and experience deals principally with the shift in recent decades from a positive, hopeful vision of childhood’s purity and impressions power to a counter-imagery of youth threatened or corrupted. the gallery exhibition includes works by diane arbus, robert gober, mona hatoum, and mike kelley. an accompanying film and video exhibition includes films and videos by stan brakhage, joseph cornell, fine sadie benning, louis malle, satyajit ray, and arturo ripstein. matter investigates art the new role of materials in fine arts and design, as well as its force in inspiring and guiding the creative process, by considering and connecting several distinct creative fields. works by joseph beuys, robert morris, gaetano pesce, mona hatoum, eva hesse, designers hella jongerius and tom dixon, impressions and photographer vik muniz are shown.

what is the cause of dark spots that sometimes appear on the fine paper of drawings and paintings? reddish-brown spots are known as "foxing", caused by mold or the deterioration of the metallic impurities art left in the paper from the manufacturing process. other colors of spots may be one of many types impressions of mold damage. mold spores are everywhere in the environment, and mold thrives on cellulosic materials, especially in conditions of high humidity (above 65% of relative humidity). keeping artworks out of high humidity areas like bathrooms or exterior walls, can help reduce the development of such stains. if i have a work of art on paper that appears to not be flat, should i be concerned? paper is hygroscopic, reacting to changes in climate by expanding when it is humid and contracting when it is dry. a gentle undulation in the paper called "cockling" occurs under these conditions, especially with larger works. this may impair the work aesthetically as well as cause mediums such as gouache to crack or flake as it is unable to expand and contract as the paper itself does.
